There are several different software offerings such as Quickbooks Online, Sage Cloud Accounting, Fresh Books, Accounting Suite, Zoho, Xero, and Wave as well as apps that integrate with them to provide additional functions such as payroll, CRM, inventory management, and workflow management. The options are growing every day and choosing the right program and apps for your needs can be overwhelming. I can help with choosing and setup. I am certified in several different software programs, and have been trained and tested in setup, proper usage, and even migration.

Set-Up

It’s true, most Cloud Based accounting software is flexible and easy to use, and although you and/or your staff are probably entirely capable of installing and setting up your software, we have found that most clients prefer the benefits of having a professional get the system up and running for them.

My experience with these software programs allows me to review your current bookkeeping system and your future bookkeeping needs, and then setup your accounting software so that it works for you, flawlessly, right from the start. You don’t have to waste your time, or the valuable time of an employee, to figure out what methods of accounting you use, what chart of accounts you will need for your business and how to properly enter beginning balances. I provide training on the software, increasing efficiency and knowledge of your new accounting method immediately rather than prolonging the inevitable learning curve as your bookkeepers figure out the ins and outs of the system.

When hiring me to setup your accounting software for your business, you will not lose any time to installation and setup of the system. I will…

  • review your current accounting system and determine your needs, including the setup and design of your new accounting management software.
  • determine your best start date and load balances as of that start date, including outstanding accounts receivable and outstanding accounts payable as of that start date.
  • prepare the list of services, inventory items, non-inventory items, any additional charges, and sales tax that you will bill to your customers.
  • enter any transactions as of your start date into the new system.
  • train you or a member of your staff to use the new system to meet all of your accounting and financial management needs.
  • follow up training to make sure the system is working seamlessly for your business.
  • monthly, quarterly, or annual review of data to make sure you are on track for tax preparation and the necessary management reports to build your business.

Migration

Migrating from another software program can be tricky. Migration or conversion is not something to be attempted without a thorough understanding of the source and target software programs, what can and cannot be converted, and what will need to be entered after conversion. I have done many migrations so I know the best way to prepare and perform one to minimize the problems that can occur.

Clean Up & Training

Clean Up is a great way to prepare for tax time, an important meeting, or a periodic review of your business strategy. I can review transactions, clean up stray entries, balance the general ledger to subsidiary ledgers, and adjust the chart of accounts to reflect changes in your business model. Cleaning up your books can help you make better decisions, minimize the ill-effects of undetected errors, and keep money flowing in the right direction.

App Advisory Services

Apps are cloud based applications that integrate into Quickbooks Online or Desktop, Xero or other cloud based accounting software. Many can auotmate and/or speed up the process of collecting data and deliver insight on that data. Apps like HubDoc, Verify and Bill.com can handle entering and paying bills, Paypal, Stripe, Square, and others can do invoicing and processing customer payments, Fishbowl does inventory management, Quickbooks Time/Tsheetsfor time tracking and Gusto for payroll, and others track job and project expenses.  I am able to get your apps connected to your accounting software quickly and correctly. can help you develop and implement an app/technology stack(group of apps that work together) that is tailored to your type of business, your needs and goals. I can also provide training and support.
